Enhancing Small Eyes

May 2nd, 2014 • Posted by Spa Je' Moi • Permalink

Small eyes are some of the most strikingly beautiful eyes you will ever see. A few celebrities who have small eyes include Jennifer Hudson, Renee Zellweger, Taylor Swift, Jamie Chung and Nicole Scherzinger. If you have eyes like this too, then you know what a struggle it can be to apply eye makeup. Not all makeup techniques work with small eyes and if you're not careful, you can end up looking like you have itty-bitty, beady eyes. Here are a few tips to enhance your stunning small eyes.

  • Use light, pale eye shadows, like bone, taupe, heather and soft white, to make eyes appear bigger and more open. Avoid real dark eye shadows, because they make eyes look a lot smaller and closed up.

  • Shimmery eye shadows will reflect light, making eyes appear even bigger.

  • Highlight your brow bone and the inner corners of your eyes with a light or shimmery eye shadow to make your eyes look more open and awake.

  • Blend darker shades of eye shadows on the outer corners of the eye to make your eye color really pop.

  • Line your upper lash line and extend it slightly past the outer corners of the eye, like a cat eye, to make your eye appear even bigger. Avoid thick strokes of eyeliner as this will make your eyes appear smaller.

  • You can also try slightly smudging your eyeliner, which will help create the illusion of a bigger eye.

  • Tightline your eyes with a white or nude eyeliner instead of black. Tightlining your eyes with black liner will make small eyes look tiny and closed up, while a white or nude liner will open up the eyes.

  • Pump up the volume! Make your eyes appear even bigger by curling your lashes and apply two coats of mascara, focusing on the middle and the outer eyelashes.

  • Consider applying false lashes or lash extensions to the outer two-thirds of the eyes. This will help give the illusion that you have big, beautiful eyes.

Have you heard of the Ancient Chinese face reading principles? The main idea behind it is that certain facial characteristics are linked to certain personality traits. Those with small eyes are said to be detail-oriented observers. They tend to be private perfectionists, so it may take awhile to get to know people with small eyes.

Small eyes are alluring and seductive. Be proud of your stunning, small eyes! Now that you are empowered with the knowledge you need to enhance your beautiful peepers, all you need to do is practice. The Top 3 Reasons to Get a Facial

April 17th, 2014 • Posted by Spa Je' Moi • Permalink

Who doesn't like receiving a relaxing facial? There are many reasons why it is enjoyable to melt into the aesthitician chair, however, facials are also an essential part to having radiant skin. We have three reasons why everyone should come in to experience this one-of-a-kind treatment.

Cleansing

For starters, a facial gives your skin a deep cleaning. Think of all the things your skin comes into contact with in a day. From outdoor pollutants to makeup, it can all build up. A facial gets rid of toxins and dead skin and brings out your natural skin tone. Plus, it keeps your pores from making too much oil. By decreasing the amount of oil on your face, you decrease breakouts. The exfoliation process helps your skin stay firm and tight, keeping those wrinkles at bay.

Stress relieving

It's not a coincidence that you feel refreshed after a facial. Not only do facials exfoliate and moisturize your skin, the treatments also increase blood flow and promote circulation. For many women, taking a few minutes to get a facial is me-time, a time to relax and forget about work, car pools and dinner recipes. The whole treatment is a stress reliever.

Age-fighting

Routine facials can help fight wrinkles, but there are certain additions you can tack on to help your skin stay wrinkle free. Intense pulsed light and some laser treatments are known to stimulate and promote collagen growth, which keeps your skin from sagging.

There are many different kinds of facials. We would be happy to suggest the best one for you. Call and schedule an appointment today.

Long Lashes for Your Special Event

April 3rd, 2014 • Posted by Spa Je' Moi • Permalink

There are some occasions when a woman wants to look her best. When those special occasions roll around, you might consider getting eyelash extensions to add an extra pop to your look. Here are a few extension-worthy events:

Weddings

Whether you're the bride or a guest, every woman wants to look good at a big gathering. A full set of eyelash extensions typically takes about two hours to apply. You should make an appointment about two weeks before the big event, that way you're used to the extensions by the time the wedding rolls around.

Class Reunions

Who doesn't want to turn heads at their high school reunion? If you're looking to save a few bucks, consider getting a half-set of lashes. You'll have your old flame wondering why he let you go and your friends wondering how you stayed so youthful.

Vacations

Whether you're headed on vacation with the girls or planning a trip with the hubby, a vacation is a great time to treat yourself to eyelash extensions. A thick set of lashes offers a youthful look and draws attention to your eyes. Why not look your best on the beach? Extensions will hold up in water, so you'll have no problem enjoying all your vacation has to offer while wearing extensions.

Although it's fun to get all dolled up for special occasions, you don't need a special occasion to wear lash extensions. They're the perfect compliment to all looks and can help reduce the time it takes for you to get ready in the morning. Call us at to schedule your appointment today.
